Senior Back-End Engineer

Chief Technology Officer.
Lead engineering for the institutional infrastructure layer.

KCS Capital is selectively recruiting a Chief Technology Officer to lead delivery of 4orm Finance, a neutral, multi-institution platform for the firms that already carry Canada's regulatory burden. The architecture, the regulatory framework, the advisory bench, and the capital plan are in place. We are recruiting the principal who will own delivery from first production deployment through institutional adoption.

You will partner directly with our Senior Enterprise Architect on target-state design, with our Securities Compliance Advisor on regulator-facing controls, and with the founders on roadmap and institutional engagement. You will hire and lead the engineering team beneath you.

What you'll own

  • Engineering across the full 4orm stack, tokenization, matching and settlement, custody integration, regulator-facing controls
  • The technical relationship with CIRO, CSA, OSFI, and bank counterparties
  • Hiring and leading the principal engineering team across tokenization, matching, security, and compliance
  • The technical narrative carried to institutional clients, partners, and LPs

What we're looking for

  • 12+ years building production systems, with 5+ at executive or principal level
  • Direct experience shipping a regulated exchange, ATS, payments platform, or banking-grade settlement system
  • Background from a regulated venue or institutional fintech (TMX, Coinbase Institutional, Onyx, Fireblocks, Polymath, Securitize, Stripe, RBC / BMO Capital Markets, or equivalent)
  • Real comfort with regulators, CIRO, CSA, OSFI, NYDFS, FCA, or MAS experience materially preferred
  • Leadership at scale, you have built engineering organizations, not just shipped features

Senior Back-End Engineer.
Tokenization, settlement, custody.

KCS Capital is recruiting a Senior Back-End Engineer to build the core infrastructure of 4orm Finance, tokenization, atomic settlement, custody integrations, and the audit and reconciliation layer the CIRO Digital Asset Custody Framework requires. You will work daily alongside our Senior Enterprise Architect (TOGAF 9.1) on system design and under the Chief Technology Officer on delivery.

What you'll build

  • The 4orm tokenization engine, Polymesh (Substrate / Rust) plus EVM (Solidity) where Canadian regulated assets demand it
  • Atomic settlement, pre- and post-trade risk, and the API surface that institutional counterparties integrate against
  • Custody integrations with Tetra Trust, Balance Trust, Brane Trust, and Fireblocks
  • The audit, control, and reconciliation rails required for CIRO oversight

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years backend / distributed systems, with 3+ years shipping production smart contracts or settlement infrastructure
  • Background from a regulated venue or tokenization platform (Polymath, Securitize, Tokeny, Fireblocks, ConsenSys Codefi, TMX, Nasdaq, Coinbase Institutional, or equivalent)
  • Solidity plus Polymesh (Substrate / Rust) strongly preferred; Rust / Go / TypeScript across the broader stack
  • Smart-contract audit history (Trail of Bits, OpenZeppelin, CertiK exposure). Public repos and shipped systems matter more than certifications

Senior Front-End Engineer.
The institutional interface.

KCS Capital is recruiting a Senior Front-End Engineer to lead the user-facing build of 4orm Finance, institutional dashboards, KYC and onboarding flows, admin and supervision consoles, and the regulator-facing audit interfaces. You will partner with the Chief Technology Officer and the Senior Enterprise Architect on design system and architecture, and own the front-end stack end to end.

What you'll build

  • The institutional client interface, issuance, settlement, position management, reporting
  • Onboarding and KYC flows that satisfy Canadian exempt-market and qualified-investor requirements
  • Admin and supervision consoles, including the regulator-facing read-only views into the audit trail
  • A composable design system that scales across institutional client, issuer, custodian, and regulator personas

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years front-end engineering, with material experience on financial, trading, or regulated-data interfaces
  • React / TypeScript fluency; strong systems thinking for data-dense interfaces
  • Background from a regulated venue, fintech, or institutional SaaS (TMX, Wealthsimple, Stripe, Plaid, Onyx, Securitize, FrontFundr, Capiche, or equivalent)
  • Genuine product instinct, institutional users need clarity under complexity, not flair
  • Accessibility, performance, and security as defaults, not afterthoughts
